Whoa-ho-ho-ho! Pride/Prejudice by Ann Herendeen

Just started Pride/Prejudice: A novel of Mr. Darcy, Elizabeth Bennet, and Their Forbidden Loves, by Ann Herendeen.  At first I was all “Oh, aren’t we done to death with the whole Jane Austen thing?” I’m eating those words now.  I’ve been sort of languishing for some luxuriant erotic romance to reach out and grab me by the scruff of the neck.  Here it is.  I’m only a little ways in, but yeee–ow! This author does not pull her punches.  Whew! (I’m fanning myself as we speak.)  Lovely writing, lovely book cover. (Oh, I cannot resist a luxurious looking trade paperback.) And the sex scenes are effortlessly smokin’.  Damn!  Check it out, Syd.
